Veterans Day 2022 is a day of remembrance created to honour all the military personnel who served in the wars in the United States of America. It is mainly intended to honour and thank the living veterans of the wars. An armistice was signed between Germany and the Allied nations on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. Fighting between the armed forces of all nations ceased on this day as the armistice, or the agreement to end the war came into effect.
Why is Veterans Day on November 11th, 2022?
On 1919, the then president of the United States, Woodrow Wilson announced the day as Armistice Day which was to be celebrated as a day of gratitude and thanks to all the armed forces personnel who defended the country from external forces in times of war.

There were many public parades and celebration ceremonies held in the streets of towns and cities in the United States of America. There was also two minutes of silence observed at 11am as a mark of respect and remembrance for all of the armed forces personnel who had defended the country.

In the year of 1926, an official end of the World War I was recognized by the Congress of the United States of America, and it was declared that the anniversary of the signing of the armistice is celebrated with pride and prayer.

Why Is Veterans Day Always On November 11th, 2022?
The president also announced that the 11th of November be observed in public places like schools and churches and that flag of the United States be displayed on all Government buildings on this day. On May 13, 1938, United States Congress approved an act which recognized November 11 as a legal holiday by the name of ‘Armistice Day.'
