A federal holiday celebrated in November, Veterans Day is a day which honors all men and women who ever served in the United States of America military forces. Meaning Of Memorial Day Vs Veterans Day

The date of 11 November has special significance as it signifies the armistice finalization and signing which put an end to the World War I in the year of 1918 between the Allied Nations and Germany. Hence many other countries which were a part of the Allied Nations group also celebrate the day in their own way. The countries were United Kingdom, Canada and other commonwealth countries at that time.

Memorial Day is a day of remembrance which is celebrated on the last Monday of May each year. It remembers all the people who were part of the armed forces who laid down their lives while defending their United States of America. This day was celebrated prior to the creation of the Veterans Day. It was known as Decoration Day till 1967 after which its name was changed to the present day name which is Memorial Day.
Memorial Day is also usually considered the unofficial beginning of summer. Personally, I think barbecues, beaches, and ball games are great ways to spend this day. There is no disrespect from celebrating American life: that is part of why so many veterans are willing to risk life and limb to defend our country.
In 2017, Memorial Day was celebrated on the Monday, May 29 in the United States of America. The day is spent by honoring the ancestors by visiting and decorating their graves and paying homage to them.
