Eligibility for the Free Meal for Veterans

Many restaurants offer free breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, etc. Some restaurants let family members or guests enjoy free Veterans Day meal, but few restaurants let only veterans and active duty military members to get the Veterans Day free meal.

What you need to take with you to the restaurant

  • All the veteran and activity duty military will be asked to bring a proof of military service to choose something from the special Veterans Day menu. Listed below is proof, among which you’ll be asked to carry with you.
  • Anyone who is unable to show this type of identification or proof can’t enjoy the free Veterans Day meal.
  • The United States Uniformed Services Identity Card
  • The United State Uniformed Service Retired Identity Card
  • American Legion or VFW - Veterans Organization Card Photo of yourself in uniform
  • Wear your uniform
  • LES - Current Leave and Earnings Statement
  • Commendation or Citation
  • DD214
  • Anyone of these proof is needed for the free meal.
  • If you don't have any identification, I suggest calling the restaurant which you plan on to go before heading on Saturday ask them if there's something else you can bring as proof of service - they may or may not be able to help you.

Veterans Day Restrictions
